Three Costa Rican women reflect on their lives. They grew up in a world where love and—especially—sexuality were surrounded by taboo, but now they can finally speak openly about their femininity.

The life stories of three Costa Rican women fill a house where a girl grows up. Their testimonies, based on their experiences, trace the phases of their femininity, from their first menstruation and sexual explorations to motherhood and marriage. The film also explores their sexual liberation and new loves in later life, challenging the lessons learned from their mothers and the surrounding women.

Director Antonella Sudasassi skillfully weaves together past and present, offering a truthful and empathetic portrayal of a woman’s life. Unlike the girls’ earlier experiences, the sexuality of these older women is no longer taboo, analyzed openly and unfiltered.
