A film that presents a clear picture of the ongoing injustice against the Palestinian people. It does so by avoiding stereotypical characters and simple solutions, but especially by sharply depicting the intricacies and complexities of the situation in the West Bank.

Basem is a Palestinian teacher in the West Bank, estranged from his wife and trying to rid himself of his past as a radical resistance fighter. In his class are the brothers Yacoub and Adam. Yacoub has just been released after spending two years in an Israeli prison for merely attending a protest. When their home is destroyed by Jewish settlers, Basem takes the two of them under his wing.

The film skilfully portrays not only the everyday, but also the unpredictability of life under occupation. Palestine feels tangible, the characters are lifelike, and current affairs are never far away. This compelling film raises important questions that do not have easy answers.
