Bound in Heaven depicts a passionate, doomed romance with numerous references to film history. It is a bold drama in which the main characters live each day as if it were their last; an amour fou with an expiration date.

Xia, a fashionable businesswoman, is trapped in a violent marriage with a wealthy man. After he provocatively gives concert tickets for her favorite singer not to her, but to a couple of friends, she meets the mysterious, terminally ill Xu, to whom she feels an intense connection. A year later, she encounters Xu again, now the owner of a simple noodle restaurant. Despite his illness, Xia chooses to stay with him, but her past soon catches up with her.

Bound in Heaven rightfully won the Best Cinematography Award at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. The film captivates with breathtaking cinematography, a powerful script, and the irresistible chemistry between the main characters. The story about passion,  hope(lessness), and mortality lingers long after the credits roll.
