Discover more of Nepal beyond Mount Everest: a complex society serves as the backdrop for a gripping, tightly edited, and beautifully shot police thriller.

In the border town of Rajagunj, two boys – including the son of a prominent politician – are kidnapped, and police investigator Pooja is tasked with solving the case. Yet, the situation proves to be far more complicated than she anticipated. Not only does she have to battle against patriarchal Nepalese society, but her investigation also becomes entangled in the turmoil of protests and unrest within the Madhesi minority.

A thrilling film that keeps you on the edge of your seat right until the very end. The cinematography and editing are of an exceptionally high standard, the characters are well-developed and the soundtrack is remarkably effective. At the same time, the film exposes Nepalese society, with its various forms of racial and gender discrimination: a lighter or darker skin tone makes a significant difference, just as does being male or female.
