Ama woont al jaren samen met haar familie in Rotterdam. Ze zit er op zwemles, gaat naar school en heeft leuke vrienden. Alleen… Ama en haar familie horen volgens de wet niet thuis in Nederland en verblijven er dus illegaal. Op een dag staat de politie voor de deur. Ze willen het gezin terugsturen naar Senegal. Wat volgt is een spannend avontuur, waarbij Ama hulp zal krijgen uit onverwachte hoek.
