Two teenage friends grow up in a future Tokyo, where earthquakes are a daily occurrence. As they each follow their own path to adulthood, they are confronted with the end of their friendship.

Yuta and Kou are about to graduate in a Tokyo of the future, where the threat of a major earthquake is ever-present. An out-of-hand prank intensifies security in the school, while new laws outside spark riots and protests. Kou joins the protests, but Yuta just wants to enjoy his final year of school. Their friendship is put to the test.

The film effortlessly immerses you in the lives of a group of students, with a captivating pace and a world in which, despite the looming threat, you’d still love to wander around for a while. Director Neo Sora, son of composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, creates a poetic coming-of-age story into which creep subtle influences of discrimination and a shift to the right. Big Brother watches, but the melancholy prevails.

"The dystopian vision that director Neo Sora sketches in his first feature film is chilling, precisely because it doesn't require a cataclysmic day of reckoning." − Variety
