A beautiful road movie about two young people in Tunisia who dream of a different life, while at the same time discovering themselves. Original, fresh and also deeply moving.

Nineteen-year-old Alyssa and twenty-three-year-old Mehdi grow up together. Everyone assumes they are a couple, but they see each other more as siblings. Together, they set off for Djerba, where Mehdi has been selected to take part in a drawing competition. But to get there, they have to overcome a number of obstacles along the way.

‘Where the Wind Comes From’ is a stunning road movie. Youthful, vibrant cinema with a hint of romance and poetry. The film is filled with remarkable moments of selfless friendship. The director likes to use magical elements, in the same way that she herself enjoys drifting into daydreams. The wealthy, who speak French and live in beautiful houses, turn into pigs, while a bird of paradise helps Alyssa to escape. A delightfully light-hearted film, brimming with fantasy.
