In a Japanese coastal town, where the boundaries between past and present blur, Sano embarks on a search for a lost hat... and for a way to say goodbye to his wife.

Sano, along with his best friend Miyata returns to the Japanese coastal town of Izu where he fell in love with his now-deceased wife Nagi five years earlier. He searches for a red hat that his wife lost back then, hoping to reconnect with her.

A poetic film about loss, mourning, and the search for meaning. Director Kohei Igarashi subtly weaves past and present, using a lost hat as a symbolic thread throughout. His eye for small, everyday moments gives the film an intimate feel. A melancholy ode to life and death in modern Japan. It won the Grand Prix for Best Film at the 51st edition of Film Fest Gent.

"A delicate, modest, and subtly reversed love story that doesn't jump from one timeline to another, but offers the past as a bittersweet pursuer of the present." − Variety
