Nine-year-old Melina lives with her grandparents in Isfahan, Iran, after her parents' divorce. Her mother struggles to maintain their bond while building a new life. According to the law, Melina can choose who she wants to live with, and she is determined to take control of her future. Directed by Melina's aunt, their close relationship offers a unique insight into Melina's life and thoughts. From scolding her mother in the car to painting her grandfather's nails: play, conflict, and deep conversations alternate in this vibrant documentary about motherhood, family, and identity. At the same time, the film subtly exposes the position and rights of women in Iran.
