The film has already received numerous awards, including the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice Film Festival and a Golden Globe for Best Actress for Fernanda Torres. I'm Still Here is a remarkable portrait of a woman fighting tirelessly against injustice.

Former congressman Rubens Paiva and his wife Eunice live with their five children in the comfortable Rio de Janeiro of the 1970s. They lead a carefree life, but the dictatorship looms. When Rubens is arrested for questioning and is not quickly released, his wife sets out to find where he might be.

'I’m Still Here' is a powerful portrait of a steadfast woman, using resilience as her strongest form of resistance. The film takes you back in time with a vivid portrayal of Rio de Janeiro in the 1970s. The carefree nature of that time is subtly disrupted by the threats of a dictatorship, but the film never allows injustice to prevail. It is a hopeful and moving work about the strength of humanity.
