‘The Burdened’ is een sobere film. De camera staat en observeert, wat ervoor zorgt dat de film aanleunt bij het genre van de documentaire. Ondanks de zware inhoud is de vertelling niet melodramatisch. Een film uit Jemen is heel uitzonderlijk en alleen al daarom verdient deze titel een plekje op het festivalprogramma.
