Paolo Cognetti, de schrijver van ‘De acht bergen’, woont zelf ook in de bergen. Dagelijks gaat hij op tocht, genietend van de natuur en de zichten. Onderweg praat hij met verschillende mensen. Hij stelt vragen, want het klimaat lijkt ook in de bergen te veranderen… Dit is geen klassieke natuurdocumentaire, maar een contemplatieve film die zich afspeelt in de Italiaanse Alpen. Belg Ruben Impens, die zich sinds de verfilming van ‘De acht bergen’ tot de kennissenkring van Cognetti mag rekenen, nam het camerawerk voor zijn rekening.
